Treatments

Massage therapy is a series of manipulations of the soft tissues using different techniques to create a change within the body. Skin, fascia, muscle, tendon and ligaments are a few examples of what is called soft tissues. Soft Tissue can be a source of a great deal of pain and dysfunction. This pain can be general, localized or refer to other areas of the body. Dysfunctions can be the result of trauma, like sport or motor vehicle injuries; illness; emotional stress and mechanical stress like poor posture.

Benefits of Dry Hydrotherapy include:
  • Relaxes tense muscles - by breaking down and preventing further formation of adhesions and freeing range of motion.
  • Reduces the effects of stress – stress related complaints such as headache, backache, neck pain, poor concentration, anxiety/depression, high blood pressure, ulcers, and heart disease. Massage therapy has an amazing effect on the body's parasympathetic nervous system. It counteracts the body's negative response to stress, relaxing muscle tension and allowing heart rate, blood pressure and circulation to return to normal.
  • Increases blood circulation – a tight muscle cannot hold much fluid nor can it allow much fluid to pass throughout. By releasing contracted muscles, energy producing nutrients and oxygen are delivered to your cells and metabolic waste products away.
  • Decrease chronic pain- by stimulating the release of endorphins (your body's natural pain killers) into the brain and nervous system. These endorphins help reduce feelings of pain and discomfort without the use of medications.
  • Boosts immune system – with improved circulation the lymphatic system improves as well thus helping the body to fight infection.
  • Improves nerve function – chronic muscle tension can compress the nerves leading to sensations of tingling, numbness, or pain.
  • Improves sleep – by relaxing tense muscles, the sympathetic nervous system is calmed, causing your body's rhythm to slow down.
  • Improves skin tone – by promoting circulation to all areas of the body.
  • Improves performance - by increasing circulation prior to sporting events.
  • Promotes recovery - by removing lactic acid and improving circulation post sporting events.
